Announcement regarding a proposed pastoral reorganisation On Thursday 4th March the Parish Church Councils of Abbotts Ann, Upper Clatford and Goodworth Clatford attended an online meeting with Bishop David Williams and Archdeacon Richard Brand to hear about plans to restructure parishes and benefices across our deanery. The proposals demonstrate a commitment to deploy stipendiary clergy to provide pastoral care and Christian leadership for every parish, in a way that is financially sustainable whilst creating opportunities for mission and growth. The proposal affecting us is the coming together of two existing groups of parishes to form one new benefice: Abbotts Ann, Upper Clatford and Goodworth Clatford (Anna Benefice) with Amport, Grately, Monxton, Nether Wallop, Over Wallop and Quarley (Portway and Danebury Team Ministry without West Andover)The proposal states that there will be two stipendiary clergy posts in the new benefice, an incumbent and associate. We are at the beginning of a consultation and the PCCs will be engaged in discussions to discern how this will work in practice. Please keep us in your prayers and we will keep you informed of progress. Rev’d Katrina Dykes 5th March 2021
