Baptism (or Christening as it’s also known) is a wonderful celebration of the gift of life, and of receiving a child, or adult, into the Church. Baptisms normally take place during one of our family services within the Benefice when the family of the Church can share the celebration and be there to welcome your child into our midst.
As an alternative to Baptisms we can offer a special service to celebrate and welcome your new arrival. The first step to explore what might work for you is to come along to one of our family services or Messy church and introduce yourself to one of the Ministry team. We will then make arrangements to visit you at home and discuss the best way forward. We do hold baptism preparation evenings from time to time, when we invite parents to join us to explore what baptism is and how you can help your child to grow up in the Christian faith. |
If you don't live in Abbott’s Ann, Goodworth Clatford or Upper Clatford we would be wanting to know why you want a baptism in one of our churches. Whilst we realise that there may be a number of valid reasons, you will also need to be in touch with the local church, where you live. This is a common courtesy thing within the Church of England and does not preclude you having your baptism with us.
The Services section of this website will show you where and when and our family services are held or you can contact the Benefice office if you would like further details. |
